Warranty

A warranty is an agreement between the buyer and the seller of a product or service to make good on any defects in a product or make good on any errors in the execution of a service such as carpet cleaner, plumbing work, painting and the like.

Disingenuous warranties: Warranties printed on receipts one care barely read, warranty stickers on products designed to fall off, warranties that offer the symbol of replacement but not the substance of replacement.

Tailpipe warranty: A term used in the construction industry to denote a type of warranty in which the policy "lasts only as long as the buyer can see the tailpipe of the salesman's car."

  • Dilution
  • Leading the Client to False Expectations
  • Offering the Symbol not the Substance
