Reactivity

The disposition of a person to go-off emotionally in ways that can be destructive to a business transaction. Being a skilled business person requires insight to the emotional disposition of the client at every step of the way. Going-off can occur when the bill is presented, or when the clients property is damaged, or when service personnel are late for an appointment. Sometimes it is difficult to discern the difference between genuine emotional reactivity and staged reactivity. Going-off, overacting and blustering are ways to cow client into more favorable concessions for the business person. If the reactivity is staged it might be a questionably ethical practice. One needs to gather more information about the business practices to look for clusters of predatory manipulations.

In the pursuit of making more money a business person might push the emotions of their clients to far. Violent blowback can occurred when people discover they are being manipulated. Reactivity is a concept business people should keep in mind when overselling their products and services.
