Giving Unsound Advice

There are at least two types of unsound advice.

  • Intentionally misleading advice designed to benefit a friend or college in another business. Fear mongering, advice to make clients fearful and willing to pay for unnecessary parts, products, or labor.
  • Advice based on ignorance or incompetence. Business people sometimes speak before they think and assert their personal feelings as facts.

Giving unsound advice is an ethically questionable behavior. Intentionally misleading clients might also be considered a crime in some areas.

  • Overwhelming the Client
  • Misleading the Client
  • Ignorance and Incompetence
  • Pernicious and Immature Behavior
