FLIP |
|
Ethical Flipping Flipping means cashing in one's reputation for an increase of profits. A company will spend years building a reputation, delivering high quality products and services and then slowly capitalize on their good name. This can be a highly profitable move because so much trust has been built up over the years customers simply do not notice or complain. More than likely the reason for flipping is a change in management or ownership. A shop owner may have gotten older finding it convenient to have his children take over more of the responsibility. The children, not knowing the intimate details of the friendships and relationships are all to quick to dispense with those associations for what clearly looks like a more profitable way to do business. Abreaction denotes a form of moral flipping that can happen to anyone. Here the change is short-term and not always intended: it just happens due to pressure, conflict that overwhelm a person's life. Abreaction is a psychological term that is best exemplified by devout religious people who preach abstinence from alcohol to suddenly go on a binge. Here, when flipping occurs it is not for the money rather for a form of relief that just must be due to circumstances.
