Boiler Plate Selling:
Using high pressure tactics and
isolation to get the customer to sign an agreement. This usually
involves
the use of more than one salesman, done often in the confines of
a small office. Here, cut off from contact with the outside world
salesmen probe the customer for weaknesses in their arguments.
Much of the sales tactic is scripted and honed to a science. Every
argument the customer can possibly come up with is countered with
a persuasive argument to the contrary. Boiler plate selling is
a variant of "fatiguing the client into compliance."
