Bleaching

When a business is getting ready to sell it sometimes begins a long process of bleaching the business. The object is to make the business look good on paper; thus, any inventory over a few months is not restocked. Older people are let go if obligations to them cost more than young employees. This is a perennial problem with the buying a selling of businesses. The owners take great pains to conceal the shortcomings of the business by putting on appearances by staging the paperwork and physical look to the business.
